The Brevard-Davidson River Presbyterian Church opened the Weekday Preschool in September 1957, providing financial support as part of its benevolence giving.
The Preschool provides children in the community with a strong social experience that enriches language, motor, and cognitive skills in a Christian environment.
Presbyterian Weekday Preschool provides:
• Qualified teachers
• Parent and church volunteers in classrooms
• Happy, friendly, caring atmosphere
• Small classes providing individual attention
• Well-planned activities that encourage social, physical and intellectual development
• Spacious, well-equipped classrooms
• Large outdoor play areas
• Early morning care (8:15 - 9:00 a.m.) for children in three- and four-year-old classes)
• Regular fire drills
• Referrals for speech and language delays, learning difficulties and or challenging behavior (with parental permission)
• Scholarships for those who are in need of assistance
Presbyterian Weekday Preschool enrolls children ages three months through five years on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration begins in early March for the following Preschool year which generally follows the public school calendar. Classes begin in late August and end in late May. A Summer Playgroup meets for approximately seven weeks in the summer.
Preschool hours are 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. with early morning care beginning at 8:15 a.m. for children whose parents wish to bring them early.
Parents may enroll a child in any of the following classes:
• Infants - 1, 2, or 3 days per week
• Toddlers - 1, 2, or 3 days per week
• Twos - 2 or 3 days per week
• Threes - 2 or 3 days per week
• Fours - 3 or 5 days per week
