At Brevard-Davidson River Presbyterian Church our Membership Ministry seeks to ensure that our congregation is caring, friendly, and involved in the life of the church; and that as our congregation grows in numbers it also grows in becoming more loving, welcoming, and hospitable.

Interested in finding out more about membership? 
Inquirers' Classes are held periodically to acquaint interested persons (both members and non-members) with the life and work of our church. Our mission is to help inquirers find a church where they can be active and feel at home.  We hope that Brevard-Davidson River Presbyterian Church is that church, but if it is not, we want to help them find the right church home. 

The next sessions of Inquirers' Classes will be held in the Church Lounge at 9:45 a.m. on the following dates:

Our Membership Ministry Team:  We are a group of outgoing individuals that serve visitors along with potential and new members find their way in our church.  Along with the Inquirer's Class, below is additional ways we try to fufill our mision.

BREAD CART
We welcome first-time visitors after each service with a loaf of bread at the cart located in Davidson River Hall. Information is gathered and possibly followed up with a phone call.

CALLING VISITORS
Once we receive information from the bread cart and friendship register, a member of the team makes a follow-up call to welcome them and answer questions.

NEW MEMBER PACKETS
When a member joins, a membership team member sets up a time to meet with the new members, give them a “new member packet” with information about the church and their name badges, and speak with them about the church.

NEW MEMBER PICTURE BOARD
We try to get a picture of new members when they join, then post this picture with a brief background statement on our “New Member Picture Board” in Davidson River Hall so that the congregation can make a point to seek out these new members.

DINNERS/LUNCHES
New members are invited to upcoming dinners and lunches. We try to use this opportunity to introduce the new members to the congregation, and give them a chance to meet other members.

PICTORIAL DIRECTORY/UPDATES
Membership is in charge of the Olan Mills Picture Directory, which comes out about every three to four years. We also print and send updates of new members to the congregation to have for their directories.
